Noksi or Noquisi is the Cherokee word for Star or Meadowlark.

Noksi Press is an independent publishing company based in Oklahoma, dedicated to publishing Cherokee language material and books about contemporary Native American issues and Cherokee culture. We produced a bilingual Cherokee/English version of the Cherokee Vision of Elohi and Cherokee Teaching Grammar, as well as Cherokee syllabary flash cards. Our next project is Bartley Milam: Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, a biography of the dynamic leader who revived the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and founded the National Congress of American Indians. We hope to provide the Native American community with relevant works by Native authors and in Native languages!
